Beef Cattle Production

Agricultural enterprises produce commodities of more than $35.6 billion value per annum from around 129 934 enterprises across Australia, accounting for 12% of the GDP. Cattle and calves rate amongst the top three production areas providing $7.8 billion followed by wheat and milk.

Given the significant contribution made by the cattle producers of Australia, the importance of maintaining a safe and productive work environment cannot be minimised.

The Industry Strategy 2004 - 2009 was developed as a joint venture between Australian Beef Cattle Industry, Farmsafe Australia and funded by Meat and Livestock Australia and the Farm Health and Safety Joint Research Venture.
